3 on 3 Basketball Challenge 2017 : Students Edition

Times Square Shopping Centre held its 3 on 3 Basketball Challenge 2017: Students Edition on the 4th to 10th September 2017. The event was co-organized by Times Square Shopping Centre and Sekolah Menengah Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA), and supported by Shooting Stars Brunei, Fitness Zone, Brunei Basketball Association and You C1000. A total of 51 teams joined the basketball challenge where there were four categories that took place; Mixed 13 & Under, Boys 15 & Under, Boys 18 & Under and Girls 18 & Under.

The closing ceremony took place on the last day of the tournament where the Guest of honours were Pg Ali Shafie bin Pg Hj Abas, Pegawai Pelajaran Kanan, Unit Kegiatan Luar Sekolah of Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Cikgu Ricky Chong, deputy principal of SMJA and Ms Amal Majidah, general manager of Times Square Shopping Centre. Champions of each categories comprised of Team Nighty who won the Mixed 13 & Under with the score of 6-4 against Team Rebels. Team Young Blood won the Boys 15 & Under category with the score of 13-12 against Team Chivas, whereas Team Hard Money Sniper won the Boys 18 & Under category with the score of 14-10 against Team BYD Rose. As for Girls 18 & Under category, Team Tigers won with the score of 12-4 against Team M-Strike. All top 3 teams of each category walked away with medals whereas first place winners brought home trophies as well.
