Times Square Shopping Centre has completed their Board Games Weekend and Inter-school Chess Tournament with fun filled experience on Sunday, 18th October 2015 which started at 10.45 am. With 23 prizes given away during the closing ceremony, Times Square was filled with the participants who won at the final round of the tournaments.
Moreover, the prize for the Chess Tournament was presented by Pengiran Suhaimi Bin Haji Bakar from Co-curricular Education Department. The top 3 winners for the open category who went home with medals and certificates were Samsul Alif Shamari Akmal from Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun, Alias Muhammad Amin from Sekolah Menengah Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Hadarudin Syasya Badrina from Maktab Sains PSBS. For the junior Under 12 was won by Makmun Halimizain Mohammad Al-Farobi from Sekolah Rendah Sinaut Tutong who went home with the first place. Alminsyawi Muhammad Siddiq from Institut Tahfiz Al-Qur’an Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah won second place and Haji Kipli Effa Natasha won the third place. Sekolah Menengah Muda Hashim Tutong went home with trophy for winning first place for the best school. The second place winner was Sekolah Menengah Jamalul Alam and the third place won by Sekolah Rendah Mulaut.
There were also several competitions for the public throughout the board games weekend. The prize presentation was presented by Mr Lim Yee Liang, the marketing manager of Times Square Management. The first place winner for the scrabbles competition was Pengiran Hajah Safiah. For the jenga competition was won by Mohammad Rasyiq Aiman bin Haji Mohd Aiman and Haikal Mumtaz bin Eddy Ruddy Sahroni won for snakes and ladders at the first place.
