1^st March 2019, Friday- Bandar Seri Begawan- Another much-anticipated event is back again and will commence tomorrow! The Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam, Times Square Shopping Centre and Japan Foundation will be co-organising its annual Japanese Language and Culture Week 2019 for 2 days only starting tomorrow, 2^nd March until 3^rd March (Sunday) at Times Square atrium. The supporters for the event include Japan Brunei Friendship Association (JBFA), The Japanese Association Brunei Darussalam (JABD), Brunei Association of Japan Alumni (BAJA), BERSATU (SSEAYP Alumni), BJFA-UBD Chapter, BJFA-UTB Chapter, JENESYS Alumni, Community Education & training Division (IBTE CET), Chef Yamane, JUDO Academy Sports School and Wafiq Missli.

The Japanese Language and Culture Week 2019 will feature fun activities for the public which include Anime Drawing Competition, Eating Competition, Japanese cooking demonstrations, Judo Demonstrations and Yukata Dress Up Photo Booth. Moreover, a unique instrumental musician, Mr Gakuzinzan from Japan will perform live with a Bamboo Flute (called Shakuhachi) which is a traditional Japanese instrument.

Throughout the event, there will also be an Instagram Contest organized by Times Square Shopping Centre, where customers will need to take a picture of them attending the event and to include #JLCW2019 and #timessquarebrunei in their caption before uploading on their Instagram account. The most creative photo will win and bring home prizes. Other than that, the Anime Drawing Competition will be on the 2^nd of March (Saturday) from 2.45pm until 4.30pm.  The prize presentation for both Instagram Contest and Anime Drawing Competition will be on 3^rd March (Sunday) at 7.15pm. Winners will be contacted earlier prior to attending the prize presentation.

The opening ceremony for the event is scheduled to be tomorrow at 7.45pm at Times Square atrium.
