5^th March 2019, Tuesday- Bandar Seri Begawan– Times Square Shopping Centre ended its annual Japanese Language and Culture Week on Sunday, 3^rd March 2019. The event took place at the atrium of Times Square and was held for 2 days only from the 2^nd March (Saturday) until 3^rd March (Sunday). The event was hosted by The Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam, and co-organised by Times Square Shopping Centre and Japan Foundation. The supporters for the event comprised of Japan Brunei Friendship Association (JBFA), The Japanese Association Brunei Darussalam (JABD), Brunei Association of Japan Alumni (BAJA), BERSATU (SSEAYP Alumni), BJFA-UBD Chapter, BJFA-UTB Chapter, JENESYS Alumni, Community Education & training Division (IBTE CET), Chef Yamane, JUDO Academy Sports School and Wafiq Missli.

Exhibitors during the event include Royal Brunei Airlines, Reiko Sdn Bhd, MC Biotech Sdn Bhd, Pan Bright Travel Services and Yeszone Enterprise. The 2-days event was filled with several fun activities, workshops and demonstrations which include Yukata Dress Up Photo-booth, quizzes, speed eating competition, Anime Drawing Competition, Japanese cooking demonstrations, Judo Demonstration, Japanese Shakuhachi Music Showcase and many more. During the last day of event, activities included Japanese Cooking Demonstration by Ambassador’s chef, showcases by JENESYS Alumni, SSEAYP Alumni traditional dance showcase, Study in Japan Sharing Session by Brunei Association of Japan Alumni, Learning Basic Japanese Language by IBTE CET, Introduction on MINATO by Japanese Language Learning, KENDAMA demonstration by Wafiq Missli, Dance performances by BJFA-UTB and UBD Chapters, and Japanese Shahukachi Music Showcase by Mr Gakuzinzan.

The prize presentation for Anime Drawing Contest that took place at 7.15pm on Sunday was done by the Times Square’s Marketing Manager, Nazmi Mahali. Dyg Norfaizurah Binti Awang Moss was the champion for the Anime Drawing Contest, meanwhile Nur Ramizah Matzin and Siti Zulaiha Awg Kapli won 2^nd and 3^rd place respectively.
