On the 21st May 2017, RIPAS held a Thalassemia Awareness Day event at Times Square Shopping Centre. The event comprised of a blood donation campaign and a public awareness exhibition booth where various information on thalassemia was displayed to help educate public. Thalassemia Awareness Day was held to make the public more aware of what the disease is about and the treatment involved, and to appreciate blood donors and the work of the blood donation unit. Babu SiNur, the famous local comedian was invited to host and entertain the customers throughout the event. Other activities held were colouring contest for kids, face painting, henna art, quizzes and more fun activities for the public.
